Cultural Exchange


Wicklow town twinning committee exists to foster friendship between the people of Wicklow and our new friends in our twinned towns. These friendships are developed through mutual interests.

                               
                                             
 Dancing,  When our visitors come to Wicklow they are treated to Irish dancing performances.
 Music  We have many times been treated to recitals in both Porthmadog and Montigny
 Art There is a great opportunity for the sharing of ideas and art exchanges between the three towns and the towns twinned with them. The Wicklow arts group Kilmantin Arts has been involved with Montigny
 Choirs   We are regularly entertained by Welsh choirs, The Marostica children sang beautifully at the Christmas market in Montigny
Historic Sites The Ffestiniog slate quarries,Chateau de Versailles and Glendalough to name but a few.

Town Twinning association exists to cultivate friendships with the citizens of its twin town and to develop cultural links by promoting: Youth Visits, organizing Educational Trips, arranging Weekend Excursions, developing Sporting Links and participating in Arts Festivals; also promoting Business Opportunities
