Europe en scene will take place in Wicklow from the 4th to the 11th of July 2011
Wicklow Town Twinning Committee would like to inform you of our next venture. As you know Wicklow Town is twinned with the towns of Montigney-le-Bretonneux in France, Porthmadog in Wales and Eichenzell in Germany.
Wicklow Town Twinning Association in conjunction with Wicklow Town Council will host Europe en Scene this year. This is a cultural event, a Youth Project originally conceived in Montigny-le-Bretonneux. The event is organised each year by one of Montigny-le-Bretonneux’s twinned towns and will be held this year between 4th – 10th July 2011 in Wicklow town. Montigny-le-Bretonneux’s is also twinned with towns in England, Italy, Spain, Germany and Romania.
This is a cultural project in which youth from each of the twinned towns will unite in giving a performance, which will include aspects of their own artistic traditions. A Show will be prepared during the week and will be presented on the Saturday evening to dignitaries from each of the Twinned Towns, such as the Mayor and our local European representatives, our Host Families and the people of Wicklow.
We are looking for Host Families for the weekend of the 8th – 10th July. As this is probably one of the biggest events in Wicklow town this year and also hugely important for the Town Twinning Association it would be very much appreciated if anyone from Wicklow town or its environs, who would be in a position to host some of our guests for the weekend could contact us. If you are available to host could you please contact us below so that we can properly plan this complex event.

A delagation from Wicklow travelled to Eichenzell in Germany to sign the twinning charter. So Eichenzell is now twinned with Wicklow.
If you are interested in hosting visitors from Montigny le Bretonneux in France or Porthmadog in Wales and visiting them please make yourselves known to us
